Marcus joined Meeting Street Schools in November of 2018 as the Business Manager, assisting in day-to-day finance activities. After deciding to move back home to Charleston to be closer to family, Meeting Street Schools really stuck out to Marcus because of its unique education model, providing an extraordinary education to children who under ordinary circumstances might not be able to receive it.
Marcus attended the University of South Carolina where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 2014. Since graduating from college, Marcus has spent his entire professional career in the non-profit industry, starting at a homeless shelter and most recently coming from the United Way of the Midlands in Columbia, SC, where he served as the Controller.
It was at the United Way of the Midlands where Marcus discovered his passion for mentoring and began volunteering with several organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Columbia, SC Department of Juvenile Justice, and the Business Week project hosted by the SC Chamber of Commerce.
Marcus loves the opportunity to combine two of his passions, accounting and finance, and youth education and development.
In his spare time, Marcus enjoys sports and fitness, spending time with his family and spoiling his dog, Rocsi.Back to all Leadership
