NASCAR’s Kyle Larson visits Meeting Street Academy

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) –
Kyle Larson was back in the Lowcountry on Tuesday afternoon making a visit to the Meeting Street Academy school for the 2nd straight year, where the NASCAR drivers sponsor, Credit One Bank, donated $25,000 to the school.
Larson spoke with students about the importance of teamwork and perseverance during an event to support the school’s mission to empower young people from under-served neighborhoods. He also delivered signed copies of his book to each class, as well as coloring books and die-cast replicas of his No. 42 Credit One Bank Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
“This guy can present a lot of great lessons for our kids on perseverance, overcoming obstacles and challenges” school principal Dirk Bedford said. “and just working constantly to grow and getting better at what you do.”
For his part, Larson enjoyed getting to spend time with the kids.
“I think we get the best questions out of the year from these kids here.” Larson, who’s currently 10th in the NASCAR points standings said. “it’s always fun when you can do things with kids but especially here it’s fun with Credit One Bank and all that they do for this place. It’s pretty amazing.”
