Leadership change at Meeting Street Elementary – Burns April 23, 2025 MSS Internal Stories

Dear Meeting Street Schools staff,

After eight incredible years with our network, Meeting Street Elementary – Burns Principal Chad Weiden has shared that he will be stepping down at the end of this school year to pursue another opportunity.

We are grateful for Chad’s steadfast leadership and passion for students receiving an exceptional education. Chad helped make Burns a place where parents are true partners, and his contributions will always be a part of our story.

We are thrilled to announce that Nik’Toshia Giles has been selected as principal for the 2025–26 school year. Nik’Toshia also has been at the school since its founding, serving as both a pre-K and kindergarten teacher, pre-K director, grade level chair and most recently, academic dean for pre-K through first grade.

Nik’Toshia shares our values and holds high expectations for every student. She is committed to ensuring students are prepared for the future of their choice. She shared with me that “resilience in the face of adversity” is one of her favorite quotes because while every student faces difficulties and challenges, that should not weaken their work ethic or determination. We look forward to seeing the impact of her vision-driven leadership.

As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to empower every child with the excellent, life-changing education they deserve.

With gratitude,
