Mary Catherine was tapped to the lead the elementary school in 2021. Previously, she held leadership roles in the south Bronx with a charter school organization, serving as director of instruction and director of literacy. Before that, she taught in a suburb of Washington, D.C. and in the south Bronx. Mary Catherine earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and Spanish from Clemson University and her master’s degree as a reading specialist from Columbia University.
Head of Middle School
Roger was named middle school principal in 2022. His career in education started in 2015 as a teacher in Arkansas. He went on to become a dean of students, assistant principal, principal in residence and principal at schools across North Carolina and Washington, D.C. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of South Carolina Upstate and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Grand Canyon University. He was named the Middle School Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Alliance of Black Educators in 2024.
