Meeting Street Academy – Charleston Alumnus Jaydon Hall was awarded a Challenge Coin from the South Carolina Public Charter School District for his dedication and contributions to his school.
The eighth grader developed a system that would streamline the lunch ordering process for his entire school, Palmetto Scholars Academy.
Jaydon’s school does not have a kitchen to prep lunches for its students. Because of this, students submit online lunch orders to a nearby school.
Jaydon created a Chrome extension that allows his classmates to view the daily lunch menu and order online. Additionally, students can set alerts to remind them to order and preset their meals if they order the same thing every day. The extension was uploaded to all students’ laptops.
The Challenge Coin was presented by Superintendent Chris Neeley last week at Palmetto Scholars Academy.
