Meeting Street Academy: 2022-23 Application Live For Families
Since 2008, the flagship campus of Meeting Street Schools has become a beacon of what is possible for all students, having served 500+ families from across Charleston County
Charleston, SC – Meeting Street Academy – Charleston, the independent school located in downtown Charleston, today announced publicly that its application for 2022-23 admissions is live. Each year, Meeting Street Academy (MSA) receives more than 300 applications for roughly 35 Pre-K opportunities. Unlike many other independent schools, MSA’s admissions process is based predominantly upon need.
“They say it takes a village to raise a child,” says MSA graduate Kadelyn Steed, who began at MSA as a third grader and is now a senior at James Island Charter School, “For me, the center of that village has been Meeting Street Academy.”
“The Meeting Street Academy community continues to work together to expand educational and life opportunities across the region,” said Meeting Street Schools CEO Christopher Ruszkowski. Last year’s MSA 5th graders performed on average in the top quartile in reading and math and earned over $1.5 million in scholarships to partner independent schools.
The school will serve students in preschool (ages 3/4) through 6th grade next year. Families from the greater-Charleston area are invited to apply. This year the school expects to have 50 seats available, including 35 for early childhood programming for 3 and 4 year olds. Applications may be found by visiting www.meetingstreetacademy.org.
